"Vapor Trails"
White lines on blue that seemed
so sharp, so clear
blur at the edges as they fade away.
You would fly into my life
at the edge of a sonic boom
and disappear like a vapor trail.
I remember hugging you once,
when you stood for a moment
and it seemed so clear then.
Later, I guess it was me
who faded away, blurred into clouds
as I passed through your life.
And now, miles apart, we'll talk
time to time, with words that fade
to vapor trails in blue skies.
