heart knew infinitely better than I
That you would and should remain.
My petty attempt to retire you to a memory
Must have caused the heavens to roll in laughter
For what God has joined together
No mortal can put asunder.
Yes my heart knew just as I
That you had become so much a part of me
That my very existence lay within your grasp.
I cannot sever the tie that binds,
That fragile golden thread of constant love
For I did not create it
I am but the vessel that contains
